Description

Organization Summary

Conservation Centers for Species Survival (C2S2)’s mission is to provide leadership in studying and creating self-sustaining, secure populations ex situ(in human care) and in situ(in the wild) of some of the world’s most endangered species.

C2S2 launched the Source Population Alliance (SPA, http://sourcepopulation.org/) in 2014.

The SPA is a collaboration of private and public sector individuals and institutions working together to create metapopulations of threatened species for assurance of long-term survival and for reintroductions. We have begun with high conservation-priority non-native antelope species, but results will have application to other threatened populations. In a related effort, C2S2 partners with the International Rhino Foundation (IRF) to manage the Southern Black Rhino Sustainability Program (SBRSP), which this role will also oversee.

The Program Manager will report to C2S2’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will work closely with the SPA and SBRSP Executive Committees and program partners. This includes the IRF which is dedicated to saving the last five rhino species in Africa.
