Tanganyika Wildlife Park in Goddard, KS is looking for hardworking, self-motivated, dedicated staff. The park is 25 acres and has another 40+ acres to expand, and we plan on growing. A new children’s zoo and safari park are among the expansion plans. Tanganyika prides it

Tanganyika’s Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for working with the Chief of Guest Engagement to manage all food and beverage operations (excluding catering) and for delivering an excellent guest experience. This is a working manager position, and will be the main on-the-floor employee in the spring and fall. The ideal candidate would provide exceptional internal and external customer service levels and manage day-to-day operations within budgeted guidelines. We want someone to lead our Food and Beverage team as the park grows by attracting, recruiting, training, and nurturing an ownership environment emphasizing motivation and teamwork.

Food & Beverage Task and Responsibility list
• Work in Canteen and bar alongside staff
• Interview, hires and on-boards new team members
• Monitors the work performance of staff and trains and develops team members through one-on-one discussions, performance evaluations and should-to-shoulder education so they excel in their current role and are prepared for future career opportunities
• Manage time off requests and schedules
• Count drawers and train team on cash handling and PCI compliance
• Weekly inventory
• Maintain relationships with food vendors
• Put together and place weekly food and non-regular product orders, including picking up local orders
• Receive weekly orders, process, and disperse
• Oversee product storage
• Ensure product is churning appropriately
• Maintain food health, safety measures and licenses
• Assist with inspections
• Manage products in POS
• Oversee vending machines (coordination with vendors, fill/empty, weekly and monthly collection)
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the Chief of Guest Engagement
Education and Pre-requisites
Requirements:
• You must be 21 or over to apply for this position. (State Law)
• Criminal background check required for this position
• Must hold valid driver’s license
• Management experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to spot and resolve challenges efficiently
• Desire to grow as a team member, leader, and human being
• Ability to stand or walk and be able to perform physical work outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to bend, stoop, and lift 50-75 pounds when necessary
• Ability to work long hours, weekends, weekdays, holidays
