Description
The Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University is seeking a Doctoral Graduate Assistant for Fall 2021 to start in the area of Animal Welfare with an emphasis on beef cattle heifer development and welfare. The student will be advised by Dr. Courtney Daigle at Texas A&M University and will collaborate with Dr. Reinaldo Cooke.
Education and Pre-requisites
Qualifications
Applicants must have earned a M.S. in Animal Science, Zoology, Psychology, or a similar field with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. The ideal candidate must have a strong work ethic, be able to work independently and in a group setting, and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be willing to travel and work collaboratively as part of a team. Experience with cattle or large animal handling and management is strongly preferred.

Compensation and benefits
Students will be paid at the departmental base rate. Support for tuition, fees, and graduate student health insurance will be evaluated every semester based upon satisfactory progress towards degree completion and availability of funding.
