Description

Tanganyika Wildlife Park is looking for a qualified Penguin Keeper and Trainer to care for our current collection of Penguins and their facilities. Tanganyika is known for our interactive experiences and we currently have scheduled feedings for the public, a daily demo, behind the scenes experiences, meet and greets, penguin and guest swims, and penguins who walk down the isle at weddings. A qualified candidate will be familiar with pool equipment and pool systems, have an understating of penguin behavior and health, have animal sense and common sense regarding breeding situations and proper animal care for penguins specifically. This is a leadership position looking for a dedicated person to maintain trained behaviors with the confidence to create a better training program and help it grow.

Education and Pre-requisites

A bachelors degree in Biology or related field is preferred but not required. Paid experience with Penguins is a must with 2 to 3 years preferred.

Compensation and benefits

This is a full time position. Health insurance, accidental Aflac plan, and a simple IRA are offered. Pay starts at $10.00 per hour and may adjust according to experience.
