Description
Animal Care Staff (Internship and/or Full-Time):
This position entails being able to be cross-trained in all animal-related Positions at African Safari Wildlife Park. Those hired in this position will be working in both Guest areas of the Park, as well as behind-the-scenes areas with on-Staff Zoo Keepers. Animal-related Operations Positions include: Education Programs Presenter, Education Programs Animal Handler, Animal Experience Attendant, Drive-Thru Guest Relations, and Front/Back Gate. Behind-the-scenes Keeper job duties include but are not limited to: making animal feed diets/handling and processing produce, cleaning animal stalls, cleaning animal exhibits, unloading hay, monitoring Guest and Animal interactions, assisting keepers and potentially the Veterinarian with procedures as needed.
Education and Pre-requisites
Qualifications: Be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions for the duration of your shift. Be able to operate a golf cart while monitoring Guests and animals at the same time. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be comfortable learning to operate farm equipment, does not require any past experience as training will be a part of this position.
*Must be over 18 years old and have Valid Driver’s License for this position, background with or formal education in an animal-related field is highly preferred (zoo science, wildlife biology, zoology)
Compensation and benefits
TBD- will discuss salary during interview. This is a paid position.
