Description
We are currently looking to fill our head zookeeper position. This position includes animal care of over 40+ species of mammals, birds, and reptiles – ranging from hyenas, wolves, alligators, to reindeer and horses. Animal care includes feeding, inspecting habitats, cleaning habitats, maintaining habitats, and daily reports on animals to zoo director and owners. This position also includes giving tours, animal shows, etc.
Applicant must be dedicated to all aspects of animal care. Applicant must be able to work well with others, as a team, while supervising other staff and interns.
Facility has indoor and outdoor habitats year round. Applicant must be willing to work outside and inside year round. Applicant must be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned.
Education and Pre-requisites
Minimum of 1 year experience in animal care. Experience with horses a plus.
Compensation and benefits
Position is salaried. Housing is available.
