Our facility houses a variety of animals, big cats, small cats, primates, hoof stock, birds, reptiles, wolves, etc. We provide educational tours to the public about animal conservation in captivity and in the wild.

Job Duties Consist of But Are Not Limited To;

1. Daily inspections of animals and documentation

2. Preparation of food for animals

3. Cleaning of exhibits and food prep areas

4. Behavior enrichment

5. Educational tours and public presentations. Must be able to present to small and large crowds and work well with large groups.

6. Physical demands – Work in all weather elements, lift 50 lbs and heavier items with assistance. Do repetitive physical work such as raking and shoveling, scrubbing, etc. Walk briskly or run if needed.

7. Assist with veterinary care, administering medications

8. Assist with building and erecting of new exhibits and reconstruction, repair of existing exhibits and buildings

9. Maintenance of grounds in and around exhibits and park

Education and Pre-requisites

-Minimum High School Diploma

-Experience preferred with knowledge of public zoo, wildlife park, animal facility or similar institution and a demonstrated knowledge of zoological operations.

-Hard worker, reliable and trustworthy.

-Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes evenings and/or weekends and holidays.

-Guest/Customer service skills. Knowledge of providing courteous and quality customer service along with guest satisfaction.

-Pre Employment Testing: Will be asked to preform pre-employment drug screening and background check.

-Zoo Keeper attire required. First two uniforms will be provided.

Compensation and benefits

$150.00 / week and up, depending on experience and qualifications. Possible live on site available for those qualified.
