Description

Under the direction of the wildlife care curator, supervise wildlife care staff of 8, ensure animal care protocols are carried out properly, scheduling, support curator with projects, oversee interns, assist the wildlife care curator in administrative duties, support zoo manager with light duties from time to time, animal care and under direction of curator train animals for educational presentations, crate training, husbandry training and for research

Education and Pre-requisites

• 3-5 years of training experience in a zoo, aquarium or similar setting using positive reinforcement techniques
• Supervisory or team lead experience preferred
• Light administrative skills, typing, emailing, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word
• Good written and oral communication skills
• College degree in biology, ecology, psychology or related field preferred

Compensation and benefits

$25,000-$30,000/year

10 days/year Paid Time Off (sick and/or vacation)
