Description

Tigers for Tomorrow is looking to add a seasoned enthusiastic progressive experience member to our team. This is mainly Predator Keeper Position (keeper will need to have a knowledge of equine, farmyard and hoof stock Husbandry also), is a full-time, year round position that will assist in caring for over 175 animals the preserve is home to. This position will be trained in all areas of preserve animal care and husbandry with a strong emphasis on predator care and will work directly with many different kinds of animals through secondary and primary contact.
Performs routine food preparation and feeding functions in accordance with established diets and schedules; cleans and disinfects cages, houses, food and water containers, and related facilities and equipment; observes the movement and well-being of assigned collection; is able to administer medications; performs maintenance work such as enclosure maintenance, landscaping, raking and clearing of debris from walkways and viewing areas, emptying waste receptacles, setting up, modifying, building and dismantling animal exhibits and other maintenance repair work; assists in the care and medical treatment of injured and sick animals; assists in protecting preserve residents, facilities and equipment from mistreatment, vandalism and theft; assists in retrieving escaped animals and protecting the public in such instances; handles various wild creatures, including those of a delicate and/or hazardous species; public speaking and guided tours, keeps routine records and prepares simple reports; may operate various vehicles; must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs; performs other related functions as assigned.

Education and Pre-requisites

B.S. Biology/Zoology/Animal Science Degree and at least three (3) years of animal care and handling experience (Zoo or Wildlife Park with land mammals) or1 years of PAID Zoo/Wildlife Park experience working with big cats. Must be able to provide good references, , lift 50 lbs. have transportation and a valid drivers license.

Special Working Condition: Must be willing and able to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends and holidays as needed; must be willing and able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions and sometimes unpleasant environmental conditions.
**WE REQUIRE A 2 DAY WORKING INTERVIEW.
