Tigers For Tomorrow is now accepting resumes for Fall 2019 6 month internships!
Tigers for Tomorrow is a non-profit facility dedicated to the well-being, safety and care of all animals. The facility is located in Northeast Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Tigers for Tomorrow now has 3 positions available for a 3 month and a 6 month, full time interns. Tigers for Tomorrow is home to over 180 animals and is a last stop. Work is physically demanding, and being self-motivated while working in a team environment is important. Working in various weather conditions is required as well as weekends and holidays. This is a strict no contact with predators positions.
Interns are responsible for:
Basic husbandry of horses, farmyard animals, hoofstock, and big cats bears and wolves
Cleaning and maintaining habitats and animal housing
Prepare diets and monitor feeding daily,
Make daily observations of animals and report any abnormalities to the supervisor
Providing animal enrichment
Presenting and educating the public by means of tours and talking with the public

Education and Pre-requisites

Requirements:
A degree in Zoology, Biology or related field or working towards a degree in a related field is preferred, but experience with exotic animal husbandry may be considered.

Compensation and benefits

Housing is provided close by, all utilities and internet are paid. $50 a week stipends.
