POSITION TITLE: Warehouse/Shipping and Receiving Associate – Part-Time
REPORTS TO: Park Services Director
POSITION OBJECTIVE: To support the functions of the AQ warehouse and shipping and receiving departments
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with NY A staff, contractors, and outside shipping and delivery vendors to support operations and ensure safe and organized vehicle access, loading, and unloading of all goods into the aquarium.
• Log, track, and distribute all packages arriving from outside sources (Fed-Ex, USPS. UPS, etc} in a timely and effective manner.
• Log, process and send in a timely and effective manner all internal mailings including stamping USPS envelopes and coordinating outgoing USPS and Fed-Ex parcels.
• Log, process and deliver in a timely manner all parcels received from the internal WCS courier.
• Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequence.
• Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas
• Assisting in the counting of physical inventory
• Assisting in the organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
• Driving the New Aquarium van on a weekly basis to other WCS parks and locations.
• Providing excellent service to guests, including maintaining general knowledge of park attractions and amenities, answering questions. and finding ways to create a great guest experience, in accordance with WCS standards of guest service
• Completing other assignments and helping others on the team as required
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in and adjacent to Shipping and Receiving
Education and Pre-requisites
• Valid Driver’s License Required
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Proactive and outgoing nature
• Basic math skills
• Ability to stay outdoors for long periods of time in a variety of weather conditions
• Reliability and dependability
• Ability to frequently move objectives weighing up to 50 pounds
Locations
• WCS New York Aquarium. Travel required to WCS facilities.
