Description
Georgia Safari Conservation Park offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes touring experience, led by the VIP Tour Guide. The VIP Tour Guide is responsible for taking guests on an educational and entertaining journey where they get an up-close encounter with our giraffe, rhino and our ambassador animals and a private safari experience. As a VIP tour guide, you play a key role as a representative of our Park. Your primary responsibility is to serve as a Park Ambassador and private guide, ensuring that guests participating in the VIP tour program receive an exceptional and unforgettable experience throughout their visit to our Park. During periods when tours are not scheduled, your secondary responsibility will involve supporting the Animal Care team. In this capacity, you will serve as an animal care aid, supporting the team in the day-to-day care of our animal collection.
About the VIP Tour: The VIP Tour at Georgia Safari Conservation Park is an exclusive three-hour curated experience tailored for parties of up to eight guests. This exclusive program encompasses a guided safari tour in one of our VIP safari vehicles, a private encounter with giraffe and rhino, an in-depth behind-the-scenes tour of our giraffe and rhino barn, and an extended animal encounter featuring our ambassador animals.
The ideal candidate will have a fun and engaging personality, a passion for people and animals and a desire to create memorable experiences for others.
Description and Essential Responsibilities
– Impeccable guest service and public speaking skills.
– Valid driver’s license with a proven clean driving record.
– Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
– Knowledge of animal natural history and passion for sharing this knowledge in a fun and respectful manner.
– Ability to interpret animal behavior and safely guide the public around animals during tours (training provided).
– A Passion for people, wildlife, conservation, and environmental education.
– Ability to safely operate a variety of safari touring vehicles.
– Ability to lift 40lbs unassisted, navigate uneven ground, bend over, drive and ride in off-road vehicles, work in all weather conditions including extreme temperatures, etc. as the job requires.
– Regular and dependable attendance
– Assist Animal Care team as needed in various areas.
– Assist various Park guest services teams as needed
– Sound decision making and ability to adapt as situations arise
– Work scheduled weekends, holidays, special events and variable work weeks as needed.

About Georgia Safari Conservation Park
Georgia Safari Conservation Park is a master-planned zoological park being developed on 530 acres in rural Morgan County, Georgia, just one hour east of Atlanta. Phase I is scheduled to open in early 2024.
Our mission is to inspire in others a greater understanding, appreciation, and connection to the natural world. When fully developed, our park will bring three attractions together on one site: a guided African game drive, a 100-acre traditional walk-through exhibit area, and luxurious overnight Lodging. We are committed to developing and promoting a unique, regional zoological culture dedicated to the conservation of threatened and endangered wildlife. We will create an environment conducive to the appreciation and understanding of animal diversity while simultaneously providing meaningful family recreation, and actively encouraging and developing an atmosphere that supports community participation and involvement.
Education and Pre-requisites
Preferred Qualifications, Education, and Experience
– Detail and observation oriented with a strong background in guest/animal interactions.
– A minimum of 6 months of experience working with large animals.
– Ability to lead and inspire colleagues, guests, and volunteers.
– Ability to live within a 1-hour commute of the Park.
– Motivation to continuously grow within the position and the field.
– Ability to operate Kawasaki Mules, Golf Carts, assorted touring vehicles, etc. Heavy machinery experience is a plus (tractor, skid-steer, etc.), training available.
– Collaboration in planning of education and guest service needs.
– Emergency First Aid certification (CPR, AED, etc.) or willingness to obtain it
Compensation and benefits
Pay: $18/hour
Full-Time or Part-Time Position
Benefits: Staff discounts for overnight lodging merchandise, concessions, and other Park amenities. Full-time positions include paid time off, health insurance, and participation in a 401K savings plan after 3 months of employment.
