Description
Safe Haven is accredited with GFAS, the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries providing lifelong care for abandoned, surrendered and confiscated exotics as well as interim care for native wildlife eligible for reintroduction. Position responsibilities include diet preparation and daily feedings, enclosure cleaning, implementing an enrichment and operant conditioning program, providing educational presentations, assist with habitat building and participate in annual fundraisers. Candidate will be required to reside on-site and have own transportation.
Education and Pre-requisites
Minimum of two (2) years of related studies in biology, zoology or animal science.
Prior animal husbandry experience.
Ability to interface with the public.
Must have valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in inclement weather.
Compensation and benefits
This is an unpaid position. On-site housing including all utilities and phone are provided plus a $200.00 per month stipend.
