Description

Serves as Part-time Zookeeper for the Columbian Park Zoo, responsible for providing care and maintenance of Zoo’s animal collection.

Education and Pre-requisites

Degree in Biology or related field and previous supervisory experience with animals in a zoological setting is preferred. Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to physically clean/feed/restrain a variety of exotic animals. Ability to monitor animals for signs of illness or disease. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to utilize critical decision-making skills in response to urgent situations. Ability to engage with visitors and provide quality customer service. Ability to regularly work weekend and holiday hours. Must possess valid driver’s license and demonstrated safe driving record.

Compensation and benefits

$11.00/hour
Includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays (29.75 hours per week). Insurance and additional benefits are not provided with this position.
