Description

The Raptor Program Specialist is responsible for husbandry for our education Ambassador Animal collection with special focus on NMWC’s 20 raptors. This position will bring substantial experience with training and enrichment for raptor species. The role requires confidence in public speaking and conducting presentations with live animals. The incumbent is an ambassador for NMWC with the general public and is passionate about the impact of the organization’s mission and programs. As a member of the Education staff the position participates in all aspects of NMWC programs, including on-site, off-site and virtual presentations.

Education and Pre-requisites

Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Education, Wildlife Management, or related field required.
Minimum three years of professional experience working with raptors including husbandry, training, enrichment and educational program presentations

Compensation and benefits

Annual salary range $34,500 – $39,500; Paid Time Off, Holidays, Paid Sick Leave, partial health insurance reimbursement
