Description of Position:
This position is full-time and answers to the zoo director. It may require weekend, holiday and evening hours. The project manager will supervise maintenance and grounds staff, act as liaison for all contractors and contract service providers. They will be on-site and fully involved in daily maintenance routines and duties, so must be able to adapt to working outside in all weather conditions. Trade skills are a plus as this position will be responsible for the design and completion of new exhibits.
The project manager should expect to:
-Work directly with maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of zoo facilities upkeep projects
-Coordinate the function of the maintenance department and prioritizes projects
-Construct new exhibits
-Repair older exhibits
-Collect and review job bids on large scale projects
-Prepare budgets for large and small scale projects
-Work within set budget to complete projects
-Work effectively in a fast paced deadline driven environment
-Have a proven ability to manage staff
-Have experience in exhibit design, construction and themeing

Education and Pre-requisites

Compensation and benefits
