Description
GFAS accredited primate sanctuary looking for applicants with animal care experience to help provide nonhuman primates a lifelong home and high standard of care. Seeking candidates with a passion for wildlife who are excited to work with various macaque species, baboons, vervets, etc in all aspects of care including, but not limited to:
-clean habitats and refill water troughs
-prepare and distribute food
-report any signs of animals showing ill health and injury
-dispense medications and medical treatments
-maintain written log entries
-perform grounds and maintenance work as required
-make and distribute enrichment
Education and Pre-requisites
-Experience working in an animal sanctuary or similar environment desirable
-Familiarity with exotics and wildlife desirable
-Prior experience working with primates is ideal
-Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Compensation and benefits
Starting salary is $12 an hour. We offer health insurance, paid time off, and a 401(K) plan with employer matching. Free on site housing is provided.
