Position Title: Zoological Health Program (ZHP) Part-time Administrative Assistant
Reports To: Administrative Assistant

Position Objective:
• To maintain optimal coordination of information and logistics support for ZHP staff and to assist the Administrative Assistant.
• To facilitate our staff’s ability to perform their duties in accordance with the requirements of the Society and its collections.
Responsibilities:
• Perform reception, switchboard/paging, communication, mail distribution, and administrative functions for ZHP. Provide administrative and logistical support for ZHP operations.
• Receive and screen visitors and staff entering the Wildlife Health Center (WHC).
• Maintain WHC filing systems and library records.
• Complete clerical duties as directed (photocopying, medical records, check requests, travel reimbursements, scheduling tours, etc.).
• Operate and maintain office equipment.
• Assist in updating ZHP written materials and records, including the digital wall directory, tour packets, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and others as needed.
• Perform cross coverage for the Administrative Assistant when absent and as directed.
• Assist in projects and other clerical duties as assigned.
• Contribute to, enlarge and uphold the Society’s policies toward Equal Employment Opportunities for women, minorities, veterans, people with disabilities, and other protected groups.
Education and Pre-requisites
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent is required, although some college is preferred
• 1-2 years of administrative support in any setting is strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to conduct several projects from start to finish simultaneously
• Basic math and critical thinking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an attention to detail
• Ability to take direction and work in a team

Compensation and benefits
Flexible schedule-no weekends, 2-3 days onsite per week, 7 hours per day, 9am-5pm.
Hourly rate – $19.00
