Summary:
Come work with us at the beautiful Oregon Zoo! The Oregon Zoo is seeking a part-time Nutrition Technician.
The Nutrition Technician position functions as a member of the animal nutrition and veterinary care team with a primary responsibility for animal diet preparation and delivery throughout the Zoo, supply and enrichment item delivery, and stock keeping. This position also serves as a resource to Animal Keepers, operates food processing and distribution equipment, and assists in the overall operations of the Animal Nutrition Center including maintaining the facility and its equipment as well as communications and records duties.
Pay range for Nutrition Technician: Entry rate: $20.57; 6 months; $21.85; 18 months: $23.23; 30 months: $24.69; 42 months: $26.24/hour
Work area: Animal Nutrition Center Work week: Friday – Tuesday Shift: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Education and Pre-requisites
High school diploma or G.E.D. and three years of progressively responsible ordering, delivery, logistics, warehouse, customer service experience preferably with animal care, zoo, and food preparation (preferably in an animal care or zoo environment) or any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the classification duties and responsibilities.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must be able to obtain and maintain an Oregon Food Handlers Card within one month and a Forklift Operator Certification within six months of hire.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, biology or animal science.
