KEEPER/TRAINER POSITION

The Lion Habitat Ranch in Las Vegas, NV is hiring! It is the home to some of the MGM lions. We are a growing non-profit facility.
The position of Keeper/Trainer is a full-time, hourly position. Responsibilities include daily care, weighing, preparing diets, cleaning, training and exhibit maintenance for our zoo population including lions, a giraffe, psittacines, ratites, and tortoises. This position also requires a lot of guest interaction.

Qualifications for the Keeper/Trainer include:

Experience/Education: High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Experience working at a similar facility and basic knowledge of operant conditioning are a plus.

Physical Efforts: Must be in good physical health and able to bend, reach, lift, push, pull, or carry at least 50 lbs in a desert environment that includes extreme heat, dust, extreme cold (winter), etc…

Communication/Interpersonal Skills: Applicants must be outgoing, creative, confident, self-motivated, and work well independently, as well as with others . Applicants must have good stage presence and the ability to work in a fast-paced, labor intensive environment.

Vaccinations: Must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19.

Compensation: Salary dependent on experience, eligibility for health benefits at 6 months, 4 free general admission passes per year.
