Description

Basic Responsibilities
-Follow correct safety procedures for working with multiple species
-All aspects of basic animal husbandry including cleaning/sanitizing animal enclosures, record keeping, operative conditioning
-Positive public interaction and education
-Food preparation
-Administering medication and treatment under the direction of veterinary staff
-Monitoring behavioral and physical health of animals
-Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
-Reporting repair issues to management and maintenance
-Safe operation of vehicles and power tools

Education and Pre-requisites

Bachelors degree in Zoology, Biology, Animal Husbandry or related field
Previous experience with exotic animals
Available for weekends, holidays and after hours work as needed
Physically fit to frequently lift 50+ pounds
Ability to work unsupervised in a safe manner
Computer skills a plus
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens – Drug free workplace

Compensation and benefits

Full time hourly position averaging 40 hours per week
Compensation based on experience (minimum $10/hr to start)
Medical insurance available after 90 days
