DESCRIPTION
Wild Wonders is looking for a motivated Wildlife Caregiver with a strong work ethic and dedication. We are looking for an effective communicator and self-starter. This is a demanding position as we are a small private busy facility comprised almost exclusively of ambassador animals.
The right person for our team will:
• Adhere to the highest standards of quality care
• Create lasting bonds with amazing animals in our mainly full contact facility
• Have excellent communication skills to present engaging programs to large and small groups, all ages, onsite and offsite
• Promote our mission and our role with our global conservation partners
• Have a knowledge of Zoonoses and prevention
• Have a working knowledge of positive reinforcement and choice-based training

Duties of our Wildlife care staff include:
• All aspects of husbandry for a diverse group of species
• Maintenance of habitats
• Creating enrichment for each animal
• Maintaining of records and keeping track of inventory
Mentoring volunteers and interns
presenting engaging onsite and offsite programs while keeping safety at the forefront

Education and Pre-requisites

• Zoology or related degree preferred
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to work in challenging weather conditions, such as heat
• For the safety of our animals, candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID, and able to wear a mask for their shift
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Compensation and benefits

starts at 17/hr
medical stipend for 32 hours and up after probationary period
