Description

Barn Hill Preserve is an 18-acre facility in Ethel, LA. We are home to over 100 animals consisting of 35+ species. We are a relatively new facility at 8 years old that is constantly evolving and growing. Our sister non-profit organization recently spent 2 months in Australia helping with bushfire rescue. We are seeking dynamic, versatile, adaptable, and eager interns to join our close-knit team.

The internship will last 90-days with the option to potentially extend. During these three months, interns will learn the ins and outs of the daily operations at Barn Hill Preserve. Interns will learn how to give educating and engaging tours to our guests. Interns will also learn all aspects of husbandry for our collection of birds, mammals, and reptiles.

Housing is provided less than a mile from our facility. The internship is unpaid but does include a $600/month stipend for LIVE-IN interns only.

The internship will start in August or September.

Education and Pre-requisites

-Experience with exotic animal preferred, but not required
-An interest in working with exotic animals is a must
-Applicants should also be comfortable speaking to large groups of guests and facilitating tours
