Description
Animal Adventure is a growing facility, focused on an interactive educational approach for guests to engage the park and collection. Over 100 species are geographically exhibited, coupled with an extensive encounter and educational outreach program. Through guest engagement, we are able to deliver the message of responsible captive management and conservation, supporting a number of organizations on a global scale.
Position Requirements:
Position requires daily husbandry of your designated area. This includes, but is not limited to, preparing and delivering specialized diets, properly cleaning and maintaining enclosures, exhibits, and surrounding space, and adhering to all protocols and safety standards for animals, teammates, and guests. Animal Care team members work closely with facility curator and veterinarian to communicate observations and data, to ensure proper treatment and care. Animal Care is also responsible for delivering daily keeper talks, animal encounters, and programming.
Education and Pre-requisites
Applicant Requirements:
-Must have prior zoo/animal park/industry experience
In submitted materials, list species worked with and responsibilities.
-Must be able to be physically active for long periods in extreme conditions
-Lift 50 lbs, push or pull 100 lbs, stay on feet for long periods of time
-Ability to perform intense physical labor
-Strong attention to detail
-High standard for cleanliness and care
-Compassion & Patience
-Sociable personality with eagerness to interact and educate guests
-Knowledge of USDA regulations & standards
