This is a unique hands-on experience caring for all types of domestic and exotic animals; from bottle feeding our babies to caring for adult species, llamas, camels, horses, donkeys, bobcats, lemurs, wallabies, mini pigs and many more! These positions must be filled IMMEDIATELY 4-6 month internships are available from JANUARY to OCTOBER. Public contact and tours is a major portion of this position. Candidates must be dedicated individuals with knowledge of all aspects of animal care. Responsibilities include care, cleaning and maintenance to a variety of birds and animals.Interns will handle and present animals to the public. Many of our interns have gone on to full time employment at Parks and Zoos all over the country. You will be responsible for preparing a narrative to be presented to our visitors. As well as participation in daily performances and behind the scenes support.

Education and Pre-requisites

Some Exotic animal experience is necessary. Willing to learn from our Zoo Director how to administer medications and daily specialty feeding for our unique animals.

Compensation and benefits

Dorm-style housing with kitchens, laundry facilities and Internet connection is provided. A stipend of $50.00 a week.
