Description

The Arizona Zoological Society, doing business as the Phoenix Zoo, is seeking a temporary Equine Driver for our horses throughout the ZooLights season. This person will be responsible for the safe operation of the wagon/carriage ride venue of ZooLights. Equine Keepers also perform routine animal husbandry, monitor diets and consumption, observe and report animal behavior, perform behavioral enrichment and animal training, and provide positive guest experiences.

Our wagon ride experience takes guests on a non-pedestrian pathway of ZooLights exclusive only to carriage and wagon riders, it’s a great experience for our horses as well as our guests.

Education and Pre-requisites

Minimum requirements include a High School diploma 1 year experience in work relevant to farm animals, equine husbandry or training, or wagon team/single horse driving experience. This position also calls for the flexibility to work weekends, holidays, evenings and nights.
