Description
Wild Wonders is a 5 acre wildlife education organization located in North San Diego county, CA. Looking to fill 2 positions up to 32 hours a week for educator keepers. Looking for enthusiastic passionate keepers, trainers, educators to present onsite and offsite programs ot all ages working with live animal ambassadors. Responsible for general husbandry , training, presenting and enclosure maintenance of our 100 ambassadors in our collection
Education and Pre-requisites
degree in zoology or related field. Working knowledge of general husbandry of procyonids, viverrids, psitticines, raptors, herps, primates, felids, canids and a variety of small species. Working knowledge of positive reinforcement conditioning. Big cat experience helpful.must have a minimum of one year full time experience in a professional zoological setting with free contact of some species. Public speaking experience to large audiences a must. Must be in good physical condition and ability to lift 50 lbs.Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions such as extreme heat. Must have the ability to work autonomously and think on your feet-problem solving capabilities a must
Compensation and benefits
positions start at 13/hr plus some health benefits if full time.
