Description

ZooWorld Zoological Park is a five-acre facility located just minutes from the beautiful white sandy beaches of Florida’s emerald coast. Seeking a part time position for energetic, well-spoken individuals ready to educate and share animal experiences with guests.
Education staff engage directly with the public providing an up close and personal experience with zoo animals. Through daily Animal Experiences and periodic Animal Interactions our education staff provide a variety of opportunities to educate the public about animal welfare and conservation.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Prepare the Animal Experience exhibits for guest interaction. Presenting a scripted 15-45 minute animal experience to guests of all ages and backgrounds. Presenting smaller “handler” animals during Animal Interactions throughout the park. Giving “keeper chats” in front of exhibits. Light cleaning of smaller exhibits and dishes.

Education and Pre-requisites

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner
• Ability to work in Florida weather conditions for extended periods of time
• Must be able to learn and integrate information, knowledge, and direction quickly
• Must be reliable and show initiative
• Communicate clearly and concisely
Preference will be given to candidates with:
• Experience public speaking
• Education background
• Animal Care background

Compensation and benefits

$9.50 hourly
10-30 hours weekly, 4-6 hours a day
