Description
The Curacao Dolphin Academy is seeking a mature management professional who is highly experienced in the public display of marine mammals. Duties involve the daily supervision and support of dolphin interactive programs while facilitating human resources, sales and marketing, reservations, and photo department.
This administrator will work in concert with shareholders, director, and department coordinators to organize clear lines of communication, provide advice and counsel, and stimulate staff in order to facilitate growth and development.
Description of Duties:
Supervise on-sight the daily simultaneous dolphin interactive programs.
Consistently evaluate animal/trainer presentation, employee performance, and customer service.
Assist where necessary, in the handling of dolphins and maintenance of their habitat.
Facilitate communication between department coordinators through daily interface and scheduled meetings.
Encourage and challenge the sales and marketing department in order to develop ever-improving promotions and public relations.
Support and advise human resources in overseeing company rules and regulations, and in helping to develop staff to their full individual potential.
Regularly inform director and shareholders of company status through personal conversation, phone and email updates, and detailed monthly reports.
Education and Pre-requisites
Qualifications:
Minimum 15 years’ experience in field of marine mammal care, handling, training and husbandry.
Prior experience in design, construction, or maintenance of dolphin habitat and facilities.
Proven experience in employee management and team development.
Proficient in customer service and guest relations.
Proficient in English language (other languages, particularly Dutch and Spanish are desirable.)
