Description

California Wolf Center is looking for a junior professional with a passion for wildlife conservation and possessing experience in areas of fundraising, event planning and public relations.

The primary function of the Development Coordinator is to support the Executive Director’s efforts to increase the organization’s revenue through membership and donor development, grant research and writing, event planning and public relations. The successful candidate will have experience in:
Membership: Execute membership acquisition drives and member appeals. Management of database and membership processing.
Donor Development: Help cultivate, maintain and manage the major donor development process. Develop creative events to increase large donors. Create and manage two fundraising donor appeals each year. Database management.
Event planning: Assist and manage the planning process for all events, primarily annual fundraising event planning, sponsorship solicitation and volunteer management.
Grants: Researching new grant opportunities to support programs, services and capital needs as well as write grant applications and follow up reports.
Marketing: Assist with developing marketing strategies, website updating and public relations work. May include social media management.

Our Center has high standards and is focused on responsible animal welfare and holistic conservation practices.

Note: The location of the Center is in Julian, California, about 55 miles from the center of San Diego. Primary day to day work will take place at the Center which is located in San Diego’s mountains. The office and the environment are rural. However, the work of the California Wolf Center is national in scope. Some telecommuting will be permitted after the Development Coordinator has established a good working relationship with Center staff.

Education and Pre-requisites

– Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
-Two years of relevant professional work experience
-Strong writing and interpersonal skills
-Experience with donor database management software – Donorperfect preferred.
-Demonstrated organizational skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google Workspace, Squarespace or other website management software.

Compensation and benefits

Full Time, Non-Exempt
Hourly Rate: $21 – $25/hour, plus benefits.
