Description

Panther Ridge Conservation Center is a 501c5 non-profit organization dedicated to providing exceptional care to the animals in our collection. We are looking for the right individual to fulfill our full time keeper position that is available! Panther Ridge is a small, rapidly growing facility that houses over 21 exotic cats. We are in the process of relocating to Sarasota, FL and redesigning/expanding our facility. Starting out primarily as a rescue, our mission has now evolved to educate and conserve. While we are not open to the public, we offer educational tours of the facility daily by appointment.
As a full time keeper you will be responsible for all aspects of animal husbandry including but not limited to;
– Cleaning and maintaining enclosures
– Operant conditioning training and enrichment
– Observing, monitoring, and documenting animal health
– Meat processing/diet prep
– Assisting with vet care/cub rearing
– Public speaking, guided tours, outreach programs
– Help with social media/events/fundraisers
– Maintenance of facility and landscaping

Education and Pre-requisites

Full time Keepers can be expected to work 5-6 days a week including all holidays, events, and weekends.
Other Requirements include;
– BS degree in biology related field
– At least 1 year of carnivore experience
– Team player with great communication
– Lift at least 50 lbs
– Work in extreme heat/weather conditions
– Up to date on vaccinations including tetanus and be TB negative
– Valid drivers license and ability to work in US

Compensation and benefits

Pay is based on experience
Onsite free housing available for right individual
