Description

The Bird Department of the Audubon Zoo is seeking qualified applicants for 2018 internship positions.

Internship Overview:
Bird Department interns work along with the keepers in the daily husbandry of Audubon’s avian collection, gaining experience in basic care, diet preparation, observation skills, public speaking, record keeping, and enrichment. This opportunity is geared towards candidates that have an interest in a career in animal care.

Desired Skills:
Applicants will be required to work in all types of weather, must be able to bend and lift, and may be required to work weekends.

Environmental/Working Conditions:
Internships are non-paid and require a work week of 32 hours, or 4 days, for the duration of the 12-week program. No housing is provided. Start and end dates are flexible.
