Description

Under limited supervision, will manage, direct and coordinate department daily activities and programs for the herpetology and invertebrates department. Ensure proper care of animals and efficient maintenance of facilities. Participate in exhibit design and construction and coordinate work orders and maintenance projects. Develop standard operating procedures and policies for the department. Train and manage the collection of animals. Will represent the Toledo Zoo in AZA programs and activities. Communicate and interact effectively with employees from other departments.

Education and Pre-requisites

Prefer a degree in a related field, with a minimum of two years curatorial/supervisory experience in a zoological setting, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.
