The Animal Express is a small animal outreach facility located on 5 acres with over 80 animals varying from farm animals, exotic mammals, reptiles, and birds. This position is very hands on and interactive with all of our animals. The current position is part time working mostly weekends (applicant must be available on weekends), there is potential for this position to turn into full time work as well.

Animal Educator position is responsible for the handling of a variety of birds, reptiles, and exotic mammals at events and handling them for the public at events of all sizes. You must be comfortable handling a variety of animals. Travelling to and from on site location in company vehicles.

Petting Zoo Attendant is responsible for monitoring our walk in petting zoos at various public events of all sizes. Making sure guests are safely interacting with our animals and entering and exiting the pen safely. Making sure animals areas are kept clean and presentable for the public. Travelling to and from the on site location in our company vehicles.

Education and Pre-requisites

The following are requirements for both positions:
– Must be reliable and can adapt to a variety of work environments.
– Must be comfortable working around all types of animals.
– Must have strong customer service skills.
– Must be willing to work in any environment including dirty, loud, hot, and wet environments. This job will spend the majority of it’s hours outside.
– Must understand safety standards and maintain safety of animals, guests and staff.
– Must be able to enforce animal safety rules while at events.
– Must have previous animal experience paid or unpaid.
– Experience driving large SUV or Van is a plus. Must be comfortable travelling to on site locations with the animals.
– Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid drivers license.
– Must have good communication skills.
– Must be comfortable working in a fast pace job environment.
– Must be able to interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner.

Compensation and benefits

Pay Rate range is $10 to $12 an hour with opportunity for performance increases.
