Variable-hour staff are limited to a maximum of 1,040 hours per 12-month period. This position is expected to run from April through October. (Dates could change based on business needs.)

Education and Pre-requisites

• Three years professional animal keeper related experience, AND
• A bachelor’s degree in biology, zoology, or related subjects relevant to the care of zoo animals, OR
• Any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.

Additional requirements
• A valid driver’s license with at least two years of driving history and a clean driving record.
• Medical testing and/or immunizations are required as the duties of this position may require close contact with animal areas and enclosures where animals may be present.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule; weekend and holiday availability is required.

Compensation and benefits
