Description
Due to a substantial increase in our educational outreach programs, we are adding one additional immediate animal keeper internship position.
Safe Haven is seeking an enthusiastic energetic candidate for a six-month animal keeper position in northern Nevada. Candidate will gain experience in animal husbandry including implementing our enrichment program and training, providing educational outreach programs and habitat building. Each six-month intern will be responsible for the training/operant conditioning of a specific resident for wellness and health checks.
Education and Pre-requisites
*Must be at least 21 years of age
*Degree in Zoology, Biology or Animal Sciences
*Must be in good physical condition and able to lift at least 50 lbs
*Must be willing able to work in inclement weather
*Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license
*Tetanus vaccination required
Compensation and benefits
This is an unpaid position but free onsite housing and utilities plus $200 per month stipend is provided. Start date negotiable.
