Full-time position

Work week: Thursday through Monday; 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Animal Keeper – Herps/Fish position specializes in the care of reptiles, amphibians, fish and aquatic invertebrates during all of their life stages. The keeper in this position is responsible for day-to-day husbandry activities.
Education and Pre-requisites
Bachelor degree in biology, zoology, or related subjects relevant to the care of zoo animals with three years professional animal keeper related experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. This position requires experience with similar species that demonstrates knowledge of their natural history and current industry care standards. SCUBA certification and a valid driver’s license are required. Possession of, or the ability to obtain, First Aid/CPR certification.
Compensation and benefits
Entry rate: $21.28; 6 months; $22.62; 18 months: $24.04; 30 months: $25.55; 42 months: $27.15/hour. Full benefits, including paid holidays, vacation, sick pay, PERS retirement, medical, dental and vision.
