Description

Safe Haven Wildlife Sanctuary, located in northern Nevada, has an immediate position for a part time Animal Keeper position. Safe Haven provides lifelong care to abandoned, surrendered and confiscated exotics and limited interim care to native Nevada wildlife.
Candidate will be responsible for daily animal husbandry including diet preparation and feedings, enclosure cleaning, including regular upkeep on in-ground pools and grounds, maintaining animal care records, assisting with some office work and fundraiser events, habitat building, onsite educational presentations and performs other duties as assigned. This position has the opportunity for growth and a full-time leadership position.

Education and Pre-requisites

BS degree in Biology, Zoology or related field.
Minimum 1-year experience in animal husbandry position.
Ability to interface with the public.
Must have valid drivers license and own vehicle
Must be able to list 50 pounds and willing to work in inclement weather and some holidays.
Safe Haven is a non-smoking facility.

Compensation and benefits

$10.00 per hour and includes free onsite housing including utilities.
