This is a great opportunity for a Keeper interested in working with, and cross training on a variety of taxa, including: mammals, reptiles, birds and ectotherms. In addition to husbandry and maintaining naturalistic exhibits, the ideal candidate will be a keeper who does have some prior experience with Reptile and Amphibian husbandry.

This position is part of a dynamic and progressive Animal Care & Health team. A strong collaborative teamwork ethic, personal accountability, public speaking skills and enthusiasm are required. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and be able to work in a strenuous work environment- near the beach.

Summary: Under general direction of Zoological Manager and Director of Animal Care , the Keeper is responsible for the application of daily animal care, maintenance of exhibits, guest experience and applicable research

Education and Pre-requisites

Preferred Qualifications:
-General experience with various taxa, including Reptile and Amphibian husbandry
-Familiarity with setting up a variety of naturalistic exhibits and knowledge of basic filtration systems (primarily for ectotherms)
-Venomous experience preferred- but not required
-Experience working in large aviaries with a variety of species

Compensation and benefits

Position Status: Full Time, Regular, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Compensation: $19.30 – $21.30/hour DOE
