Description
The Phoenix Zoo is looking for a part time Animal Diet Technician to be responsible for preparing the animal diets. Animal Diet Technicians prepare prescribed recipes and diets and communicate diet and/or feed changes to husbandry staff, and monitor for quality in feed and sanitation standards. Diet Techs also get to showcase their creativity, occasionally creating special cakes and other treats for animal birthdays and holiday celebrations.
Education and Pre-requisites
Minimum requirements include a HS Diploma with a preference for a BS degree in Animal Biology or Nutrition, 1 year experience in food service or animal diet prep, excellent math skills, a valid driver’s license, and must be willing to work with and humanely euthanize live prey items. All Phoenix Zoo employees are required to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen, this position will also require an annual TB test.
