Description

Provide essential needs to NH Primates in your department such as fresh water and appropriate nutrition. Maintain clean enclosures, assist in providing appropriate animal enrichment, assist with movements, handling and capture of animals as needed. Observe and report any abnormalities or signs of illness in animals to team lead and Veterinary staff. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the Veterinary staff and report any changes in animals’ condition.
Perform landscaping/grounds keeping duties in your designated areas and equipment maintenance associated with such tasks. Provide cleaning and care of vehicles, tools, and equipment to keep them functioning properly. Assist with construction and reparation of animal enclosures and fences. Participate in Chemical Immobilization and recapture drills.

Education and Pre-requisites

High School Diploma or better
1-2 Years of direct animal care
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Must be able to work safely with a variety of animals
2. Ability to move/lift 50lbs, bend frequently, and stand throughout workday
3. Must be able to work outdoors in variable, sometimes extreme weather conditions.
4. Good observational and organizational skills
5. Ability to follow written directions and record observations
6. Reliable attendance is essential to providing optimum animal care
7. Ability to communicate with other staff members and supervisors
8. Support the mission of HSUS, FFA, and CABBR

Compensation and benefits

Full time employment. Wages DOE. Insurance, 401K, PTO
