Description

Central Florida Animal Reserve (CFAR) is a newly constructed facility on 11 acres housing a collection of 20+ tigers, lions, leopards, and cougars. CFAR was established in 2007 and in 2017 moved to our new facility built solely by dedicated volunteers. We are licensed through FWC, USDA, and an institutional member of AAZK located in beautiful east Osceola county in southeast St. Cloud, Florida. This non-profit facility serves large felids that would not otherwise have a home. Central Florida Animal Reserve’s mission is to preserve these magnificent animals and act as stewards for their care and well-being. We are a growing institution, recently opening our new Welcome Center as well as rehoming 7 big cats in 2020.
CFAR is seeking motivated, dedicated, and passionate interns interested in learning and gaining experience in all aspects of animal care. Experiences achieved include but not limited to; large felid husbandry, enclosure maintenance, diet prep, enrichment, behavior training, record keeping and a weekly class. Class topics include: natural history of the animals, animal behavior, professional goal assessment/guidance, assigning a project focused on your professional goals and more
