Description

WildCat Ridge Sanctuary has immediate openings for hardworking and enthusiastic Animal Care Interns. This is not a job opportunity, it is an opening for the unpaid Intern Program that runs for 12 weeks. WCR is home to over 60 captive-born wildcats and hybrids. We are looking for individuals who are dedicated to learning how to provide care for wildcat rescues while following strict safety codes. This program is specifically for students who are hoping to advance their careers in animal care and or zookeeping.
WildCat Ridge Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 lifetime sanctuary for captive-born wildcats. The facility is located near Silverton Oregon. WCR is a member of the American Sanctuary Association, Tigers in America, Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries, American Association of Zoo Keepers, and the Big Cat Sanctuary Alliance. We care for lions, tigers, cheetahs, cougars, bobcats, servals, caracals, hybrid cats as well as a few rescued farm animals and poultry.

WCR is not open to the public. Animal Care Interns devote all their time to caring for the wildcat residents and learning about true sanctuary work. This provides an incredible opportunity to get to know each and every one of the animals that they work with on a more personal level. The animal internship program will provide valuable knowledge and experience with exotic feline husbandry and provide valuable experience for a future in the field of zookeeper or animal care in a Sanctuary setting and adding valuable skills to your resume.
