Description
We are expanding our collection. One position in Program Animal area working with animal ambassadors and interpretation, Bird of prey handling experience preferred. One position in Africa, large ungulate experience preferred. Seeking a mature individual with commitment to animal welfare, productivity and the Animal Care Team. Works well both independently and as a member of the Animal Care Team. Able to follow both written protocol and verbal direction. Must be able to provide complete, succinct yet detailed documentation. Must extend professional customer service to both internal and external customers.
Education and Pre-requisites
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Zoo Technology or Science, Animal Science, Wildlife Studies or related field. Previous internship at accredited zoological facilities. Previous paid employment at an accredited zoological facility preferred. Previous interpretive and falconry experience preferred for Program Animal position, previous giraffe/rhino experience and free contact camel handling preferred for Africa position.
Compensation and benefits
$12.97 per hour. 2 weeks paid vacation, increases incrementally with longevity. Health insurance, life insurance, Care flite and retirement packages. Private access to EAP counseling.
