Description
Wildwood Wildlife Park Zoo & Safari is looking for hardworking, self-motivated animal care staff. Candidates will work effectively in a team environment to carry out the daily care of the animal collection in accordance with facility protocols. Candidates should expect to work independently and will be responsible to carry out all aspects of daily animal care and husbandry for the diverse animal collection.
RESPONSIBILITES
•Will be responsible for the day-to-day animal care and welfare. This includes husbandry, enrichment, behavioral conditioning as it relates to the daily management of a diverse collection of animals.
•Ensure the daily routines of cleaning, animal observation, diet preparation and reporting medical needs or abnormal conditions to lead curator management.
•Maintain daily records, collecting and logging information, and ensuring this information is communicated to management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
•Ability to lift and carry 50-75 pounds, when necessary, kneel, bend, crouch, squat, and stand for extended periods of time.
•Ability to perform strenuous physical work required.
•Ability to work long hours, weekdays, weekends and holidays.
•Able to work effectively indoors and outdoors and in inclement weather and in all conditions (i.e., heat, rain, snow).
•Must maintain current tetanus vaccination within 10 years
and proof of a negative TB within the current year.
Education and Pre-requisites
•Minimum high school diploma and 18 years of age and valid driver’s license with good driving record.
•Experience-Hands on experience at a zoo, farm, wildlife park, animal facility or similar institution.
•Education-A college degree in biology sciences or a related field, but not required.
