Description

Position Summary:

Oversees and manages the Ambassador Animals Program at The Florida Aquarium. Responsible for leading a diverse team of biologists in the acquisition, training, enrichment, and daily care of a living collection of ambassador animals. Develops and implements formalized animal training and enrichment programs. Is a member of the senior leadership team in Animal Care & Health.

Education and Pre-requisites

Education Requirements and Technical Skills:

Must have five years of experience with personnel management in a dynamic setting. Experience
working with volunteers is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or psychology is preferred or equivalent experience.
Must have a strong and effective working skill set of animal training and enrichment practices and principles in a zoological setting.
Scuba certification is preferred.
Experience with bookkeeping and budget management in a professional work environment.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong proactive and professional written and oral communications skills.
Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
