Job Description:
Alabama Safari Park is a 350-Acre Park with a large collection of rare and exotic Hoofstock. The Park is dedicated to conservation and has provided support to programs in over 135 countries around the world. We are looking to add an experienced animal care professional to our team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with Exotic or Domestic large mammals such as camels, llamas, antelope, equine and or cattle species. The job is in an open safari environment where over 30 species roam freely.
Job Responsibilities:
• Daily cleaning and maintenance of exhibits and roadways.
• Diet preparation and feeding.
• Assist in vet and medical procedures.
• Daily observation of animals including for injuries, breeding, and general healthcare.
• Help with capture, moving, and handling of large hoofstock according to set policies and procedures.
• Use large machinery, power tools, and lawn equipment in a safe manner.
Requirements:
• Associates degree
• MUST be able to lift 50 lbs.
• MUST be able to work outside in all weather conditions
• Preferred experience driving large machinery such as; tractors, skid steers, lawn mower, etc.
Compensation:
Pay based on Experience. Range will be from $12-$14/hour. Excellent benefits including Heath Insurance, 401K, sick time and paid vacation. Housing available with other Animal Care staff if desired.
