Description

WildCat Ridge Sanctuary immediate opening for Construction Interns for our Winter Program. Looking for hardworking individuals who want to learn more about what goes into running a rescue facility while helping build habitats. Must love animals and be dedicated to providing work for the wildcat rescues while maintaining strict safety protocol.

The Internship program will also provide valuable knowledge and experience with exotic felines while educating about the active wildlife crisis and sanctuary field.

This is a great opportunity to add to your resume for students looking for a career as a zookeeper or other animal-related fields.

Education and Pre-requisites

Applicant Requirements

•Must be 21 years of age
•Must be in good physical condition
•Must be able to consistently lift 80 pounds
•Must be comfortable on ladders
•Must be able to work in all weather conditions
•Must be fluent in English (both written and verbal)
•Must provide your own health insurance
•Must have a current Drivers license and vehicle.
•Must be able to follow directions and work in a team environment

Preference will be given to Candidates with at least one year of undergraduate program studies in zoology, biology, or other animal-related fields as well as previous construction work.

Compensation and benefits

Internships are non-paid positions and run for approximately 30 weeks. Interns work five days a week with a minimum of 35 hours including both week-day and weekends as needed.

•There is no on-site housing so you must be local or have a place to live. There is no public transport so you must have a vehicle. We provide a $100 stipend each week to help with travel costs

(Interns who complete the program have the first opportunity for a full-time job when available)
