Description
Black Pine, at this time, cannot offer any housing or transportation so interns must reside within the area or fund their own room and board to stay in the area during their internship. Every effort will be made to work with the intern to find accommodations for them during their internship. Black Pine's internships are highly competitive, with limited housing options, so apply early and be thorough when completing an application.
Responsibilities
General animal husbandry, including dietary preparation, habitat cleaning and propping, feeding, enrichment activities, administering and/or assisting with medical care (as needed), general housekeeping, and visitor interaction.
Requirements
· Hold a valid driver's license
· Available to work at least eight hours per shift
· Available to work at least 3 to 4 days a week
· Available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays
· Able to lift up to 30 pounds
· Able to stand for extended periods of time
· Able to read and follow instructions and be self-motivated
· Assist with non-animal related tasks as needed
Compensation
This internship is unpaid, however we do encourage the issuance of college credit for hours worked and will track and document same as needed.
